FAQ
A justincase is a free community event which take place each weekend (mainly on Saturday but also on Sunday for juniors) all over the world. People are welcome to walk, jog or run any marshalled justincase route. Some people take the opportunity to push children around in buggies or take their dog for a walk.
All participants start at the starting line, which will have a “START” sign. If you are joining a justincase for the first time, we recommend turning up 15-20 minutes early to learn the route from one of the volunteers.
People complete the justincase at their own pace and finish at the “FINISH” sign. When you finish the route, one volunteer will record the time you pass the finish line, another will hand you a token for your position and another will scan this token and your personal barcode ID to assign the time to you. Make sure to return the token to the barcode scanner volunteer as these token are re-used each weekend.
People then usually chat afterwards, discuss the route and conditions, congratulate people on new PBs, and most importantly go for a coffee in a local cafe.
We recommend turning up 15-20 minutes before the justincase starts to listen to the briefing, discover the route, chat with other runners and volunteers, and to do a short warm-up.
The first ever justincase took place in the UK while the first in Ireland took place in November 2012, in Malahide.
Once you cross the finish line, a volunteer will record your time and another volunteer will hand you a token for your position. A third volunteer will scan this token and your personal barcode ID to assign the time to you. Make sure to return the token to the barcode scanner volunteer as these token are re-used each weekend.
